Hey hey, we've confirmed all the acts for the month of November. We have, for your pleasure and ours:

T R O U B A D O U R S 7
13 November

Sara Lo
Sara Lo's got a sweet voice and sweet songs. It's very rare to see her perform around town so this is a good chance to reacquaint yourself with her world of sweetness.

360 Degree Head Rotation
Rafil and Jack, on the other hand, are far from sweet. Raucous, loud and (some say) Satanic, 360 Degree Head Rotation is as the band's name implies, a total paradigm shift!

T R O U B A D O U R S 8
20 November

An indie rock outfit that's been around for as long as anyone can remember, Couple's songs are young, fresh, wistful and poppy. Don't be afraid of it. Love it. Love it.

Lurks embraces technology like a boyfriend embraces his girlfriend. They kiss and dance passionately, singing about everlasting love. And then comes the gothic depeche moments. Oh.

As always, the shows start around 8pm at La Bodega KL. Come early if you want a nice seat. Click here if you're not sure where it is. In addition to the headliners, we also have spots for open mic acts. If you wanna play, just turn up or email ahead to

In other news, there will be a special Troubaganger show on 4 December, held in conjunction with the International 16 Days of Activism. Then our usual 3rd Sunday, the 18th of December. And a special Christmas Day show! More details coming up!

Take note! Next TROUBADOURS gigs will be on 13 and 20 November. That's two Troubadours in a month. Wow! Talk about a bonus!

Owing to Doppelganger organiser Jasmine's hectic schedule (she's organising a Girl Pride party in Phuket), there won't be a Doppelganger in November. So Troubadours is going to take over the slot. But also because 6 Nov, the first Sunday of the month (which is Doppelganger's usual slot) falls just two days after Raya Puasa, we've decided to move it to the second Sunday so that it doesn't clash with the holiday period. Meanwhile, the usual Troubadours slot, which falls on the 3rd Sunday of the month, will go on as usual.

TROUBADOURS 6 16 October 2005 at La Bodega KL, Tengkat Tong Shin
featuring Auburn, Rizal and Sara Lo

Hi Everyone, just had another blast from another edition of Troubadours at La Bodega.
While it was unfortunate that Sara Lo couldn't make it because her guitarist had other commitments, a fun night was had by all.

Resident troubadour Sei Hon kicked off the night at around 8:30pm (a bit late, owing to waiting for the crowd to buka puasa and saunter upstairs) with a new song, followed by a surprise appearance by Kevin of Broken Scar who performed two rousing songs. Azmyl Yunor followed suit in his inimitable style, leading to the first set of two by featured headliner Rizal, who is currently studying at ICOM (and told us that he'll be releasing his CD early next year!). Co-headliner Izuan Shah of Auburn then took to the stage with his first set of two. Moving.

Then we had a little break. Gerardine our sound woman played a Paul Simon song ("If you be my bodyguard, I'll be long lost pal").

After the break, Jerome whipped out his laptop for two songs, after which Rizal and Izuan returned to play their remaining sets. It's really quite nice to hear from these two singer songwriters whose live performances are hard to come by.

Then we entered the open mic section of the night, starting with atrio who called themselves A Pallid Sky. ICOM student Steven bravely took centre stage, then collegemate Michelle, our sole woman singer songwriter of the night went onstage accompanied by Rizal and friend for a song. And guess who turned up right at the end? Reza "Djembeboy" Salleh took to the mic for the last two songs of the night. Woof!

We've got some photos too! Thanks to Hari for letting us borrow her camera.

Rizal waiting for his set. So not nervous.

The audience, contemplative, enraptured!

The little signboard on the way up. Thanks La Bodega for the vote of confidence!

Yes, singer songwriters trade licks too! Izuan Shah of Auburn and Tan Sei Hon show off pre-show.

More more photos from TROUBADOURS 6! We apologise for the consistent blurriness of the photos. If anyone asks, just say we're being artistic! See you at the next Troubadours!

Benjamin and Chris agree that singer songwriters are the way to go!

It's all smiles when it comes to love of music. Izuan and Sei Hon don't only say it, they show it.

More pixes, this time from TROUBADOURS 5, September 18 gig, featuring Ferns, Izzy and Furniture. Photos courtesy of Shermen Mokhtar, KLue's photographer. Thank you, Shermen. Keep those photos coming!

Furniture was one of the most elaborate acts we've ever had at Troubadours. They took forever to soundcheck. But it was worth it. Ambitious dream pop. We like!

Izzy and Jeremy. Simple. Stunning. Beautiful. We like also, very much. On the far left, you can see Sasha, who's helping out Gerardine with the sound. Simple. Stunning. Beautiful. We like also, very much.

Unfortunately, we didn't get any photos of Ferns but here's a little side-glance at the crowd. We get such nice and supportive crowds at Troubadours @ La Bodega KL. Not to mention thirsty! We like them thirsty! Ha ha ha.
Surprise Surprise. We got some nice photos to share with y'all. Courtesy of Farah "Fairy" Mahdzan, who maintains a website called Here's a link. These pics were taken at the TROUBAGANGERS MERDEKA SPECIAL. See if you can spot the do-gooders.

This is Hanafi with his banjo.

This is Nell looking rather serious.

This is Hannah singing it out.

Reza "Djembeboy" Salleh, under the flag!

Have you ever seen a more deep-looking audience?
